The Department of Mechanical Engineering offers a six semester course in Mechanical Engineering that leads to a diploma in Mechanical Engineering.

LABORATORY/WORKSHOP

Heat Engine LaboratoryDuring experiments like load test, heat balance test, retardation test, etc. on different engines such as Single cylinder vertical 4 stroke diesel Engine, Single cylinder 2 stroke diesel engine, twin cylinder 4 stroke engine, Ruston, horizontal diesel engine, twin cylinder air compressor, Viscometer is used to find the viscocity of oil, Tunker’s Gas Calorimeter etc.Servicing & Maintenance LaboratoryDoing maintenance of engines, gear box, clutches, brake systems, differential and reciprocating pump.Hydraulics LaboratoryDoing various experiments on hydraulics.

ACTIVITIES

Mechanical Engineering AssociationThe Mechanical Engineering Association conducts and co-ordinates various programs for the overall development of the students like seminars on advanced topics, exhibitions, study tours, social activities, etc. In order to gather ideas from the industry, the association conducts various industry interaction programmes. It also demands students to present papers on various topics during association meetings to make sure that they are actively participating.
